What You'll do
What’s this event all about?
At my past barkeeping workshop, someone gave me a review that puts into words how much I love barkeeping: “Drinking your Cocktail has nothing to do with drinking a cocktail. It is like drinking art.”
Even though this might be a big statement, I like to think of my profession as a way of creating liquid art, and I want to show you how you can do the same. I will show you how to shake and why to shake. You will learn why James Bond doesn’t want his Martini stirred and why there has been such a hype around Gin.
Together we will go through the basics of barkeeping and mix two of the most ordered drinks around the world – for the ladies a Cosmopolitan and for the men a Gin Basil Smash. Also, the other way around, I don’t care :)
In the end, I am here to answer all your questions about the life as a barkeeper (And I know there a lot).
Who can take this class?
If you have two healthy hands to shake, you’re all capable of joining me on this experience. And also, if not: We will make it work!
Why should we take this class?
First of all, you will have a great, fun and bonding time with your teammates. Doing a barkeeping course together is such a nice experience to share and does really bring people closer together – from my past courses, I know that it’s especially good to onboard new people, farewell employees or celebrate successes and after works.
Specifically, you will learn the basic skills you need to make the best Gin Basil Smash and Cosmopolitans for every event. Whether for the next Summer- or the next Christmas-party, you are all equipped!
How is the event structured?
The introduction will take around 10 minutes. Here I am telling you some spicy behind-the-scenes stories from the life of a barkeeper. The mainpart - the mixing - takes 40 minutes. And in the end, I always leave 10 minutes time just to talk and maybe have some extra drinks.
My name is Philipp and I’m your favorite bartender. I had the pleasure to work in many different bars in many different countries – from fancy hotel bars to smaller, more loosen up locations. Now I am working as a bar manager in an amazing location in Hamburg, Germany.
I’ve seen a lot of things, spoke to many different people and I made endless cocktails and drinks for them. I would love to share all my experiences with you and give you the basic tools you need to make amazing liquid art for your friends and colleagues.
