What’s this event all about?
Are you building an organization or team that is centred on individual and collective empowerment, mutual trust and respect, and a desire for effective collaboration? Have you struggled with leading by effectively influencing and motivating others to bring and do their best work?
This workshop will provide an overview of the guidance and feedback management philosophy called “Radical Candor™” and provide you with tips and tools to help you be a more effective leader. The tips I share with you will be useful in your supervision meetings, in your communication with your team, and in developing a culture of positive and ongoing growth, cohesive teamwork, and accomplishment.
Who can take this class?
Anyone and everyone can and should take this class. Even if you are not currently supervising a team, you will benefit from learning how to use these tools to drive results collaboratively.
Why should we take this class?
When you complete this workshop, you will leave with tools to:
1) Identify what communication and leadership style you use and how it’s working
2) Understand how to lead with clarity, sincerity, and compassion
3) Develop a framework for assessing your current relationships and how to shift it towards a kind, clear, and more humane approach to achieving accountability and results.
How is the event structured?
The first 12-15 minutes will be used to get to know each other. Following our group intro, we will offer a Reflection activity that will provide opportunities for self-reflection and help us transition into an exploration of the Radical Candor™ framework. We will reserve the last 15 minutes to role-playing, group-sharing and provide an opportunity for participants to ask questions.
As a feminist consultant, I’ve worked with clients on addressing issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion and thinking deeply and broadly on why they do what they do and how they do it. Past projects have included assessing operations to enhance organisational strategy and alignment, constructing and translating a theory of change into an operational framework for execution, and strengthening communication and leadership skills for individual team members through one-on-one coaching.
I am committed, engaged, and present to understanding your needs, goals, and helping you build a framework for achieving them. I come to each workshop with curiosity and an adventurous spirit and hope you do too.
